Since 1961, the Museum of the Great Plains concerns itself with the history of the Great Plains of America. The museum exhibits various materials that have been collected and preserved from the plains, as well as the fur trade and the cattle industry.
Operated by the Comanche Nation, this museum and cultural center opened in 2007 and offers visitors a glimpse of traditional Comanche culture and a detailed history about the tribe. In addition to artifacts, historical photos and fine art, the museum hosts national traveling exhibitions. Open Monday through Saturday, free admission.
